Treatment Model Used By Residential Treatment Centers

Residential treatment centers are those centers that work as a school for children suffering from mental disorders and trauma. Often you may find your child struggling with both academics as well as a trauma they are going through. This can set their pace for learning back. And seeing them struggle also causes stress and fights within the family.

The Elevations RTC is a school that offers to nurture both academics as well as understand the mental position of a child. They offer treatment plans because of which a student returns home healthy and can continue with normal schooling. Going to a residential treatment center doesn’t mean a break from school, rather an admission to the school that takes care of the academic and personal growth of your child.

Parents often question the system and models used for treating the students. They want a basic model for the same. Read on and you will understand the 5 stages of the treatment therapy.

5 stages of therapy at a residential treatment home:

Relationship- Relationship with family members and peers are often stretched and broken when a child suffers through trauma. The first stage deals with the rebuilding of relations and support system for the children. The family is given a chance at family therapy and visits to improve their relations. The peers are reunited again through the workshops and developmental activities.

Therapeutic- The second stage is the focus on self. There are psychiatrists and psychologists available at the centers at all times. They are given regular therapies that will help them to deal with their trauma. The staff is loving, nurturing, and supportive. They take good care of the children after and before their therapy sessions.

Engaging- Stage three is to engage a child back into the fun activities. Elevations RTC has a gymnasium, bike riding, trekking, etc. for children to form new peer bonds.

Valuable- Every child one day has to return to their routine life and the next step is college. They are prepared for college by the expert teachers, doctors, and staff for their particular course. The residential centers also have accredited boards overlooking the curriculum and education.

Future-oriented- The last stage is the future. What will the student do after they retire from the residential center? They are trained to find courses that will suit them best and they are prepared for the same. The environment of the school is such that it provides for a means of zero disturbance for the student’s academics.

This model will help to remodel your child. Going through traumas is something all of us have to face at some point in life but how we react to it is on us. And these residential schools also prepare the child mentally for future challenges and responses towards it.
