How to Choose the Right Set of Tires for Your Car?

Buying a car tire can be easy but choosing the right tire is tricky. So before paying a substantial amount, you need to make sure you choose the right set of tires for your car.

As you need, the tires need to be replaced after every 3-4 years; it’s imperative to make sure you are getting the right ones. Mostly, the car tires fall into three main categories; Summer Tires, Winter Tires and All-Season Tires though all-season tires ensure the well-rounded performance but are not outstanding at all for the too hot or frosty weather conditions.

Summer tires are known for good handling and dry/wet braking. The winter tires are known for good snow traction but not really good at the braking at all. While buying the car tires, it’s extremely important to understand the type of tires you need. Here’re a few that you must check out. So let’s dive in;

All-Season Tires

As the name implies, all-season tires are specially designed and engineered for a smooth & quiet ride while ensuring fuel efficiency and good tread life. Since the all-season tires are meant to handle every season, they won’t be able to ensure optimal performance in the extreme weather conditions. But if you live in a place with mild weather, all-season tires are just the right choice for you.

Winter Tires

Also known as Snow Tires, winter tires are meant to withstand the extreme weather condition that all-season tires just can’t handle. Winter tires are engineered and created from a special rubber compound that doesn’t stiffen in freezing temperatures. Alongside, these tires also provide exceptional traction for winter road conditions such as slush, ice and snow. If you live in an area that experiences frosty weather conditions, it’s advisable to invest in the winter tires.

Summer Tires

First of all, summer tires are also known as regular tires. These tires are meant to handle three seasons. So make sure you don’t use the summer tires in cold weather. Whether it’s the damp-road conditions, spring showers or even the summer thunderstorms, summer tires are just the best and most suitable tires. The rubber compound used in the summer tires is very soft. And in the winter season, that compound hardens especially when the temperature drops below freezing. That’s the reason why summer tires are not suitable for winter driving.

Performance Tires

If you amongst the motorists, who really care about speed & performance, this is the type of tire you are looking for. Performance tires are known to harness every ounce of your engine’s horsepower and have a good grip on the road. Since these tires are known for better road performance and have a softer rubber compound, these might not be able to last as long as other types of tires do. But normally, pro-motorists prefer these types of tires for long driving and off-roading. If that’s not your requirement, you’d be better off with the regular car tire.
